An intern is a doctor in their first year of residency training.

As we mentioned above, like family practitioners, our Internal Medicine Physicians may sometimes act as primary care physicians but unlike the Family Practice Physician their training isn’t concentrated on adults and may branch out to include surgery, obstetrics and even pediatrics.

Many of the Internal Medicine Physicians at Peachwood Medical Group have undergone, or are currently undergoing “fellowships” (additional education) in order to sub-specialize in one or more of the 13 areas of internal medicine.
